Marketing that Matters.

When we think of marketing, it’s easy to think of it as ads. Or sales promotions to try to get money out of people. But I see it as much bigger than that.

    Marketing is a bridge builder.

It starts small with ideas and insights. It grows to become a familiar part of your life. Soon there is trust between a person and a company. Eventually it leads a person to buy something that makes their life better.

When you care about how your brand or company looks to the world, you are practicing marketing that matters. When you create a piece of content (article, audio, video or software) that you know will actually help people, then you are practicing marketing that matters. When you build a community and a culture through your brand, you are doing the highest form of marketing that matters.

I used to think that the sole purpose of doing marketing was to make more dollars for a company. But I have started to understand it is about more than this.

It is about encouraging someone’s passions via a product or service.

It is about solving someone’s problem in a way they never thought possible.

It is about giving hope that there could be a better tomorrow.

Marketing can matter, as long as we take the time to care about it.
I believe you should be as proud of the marketing you do as the products and services you provide.

Always do marketing that matters, and the money will flow to you.
